Can a Chick in the egg carry a virus or sickness?

was just wondering if You have eggs shipped to you and they hatch can they already have a sickness from their previous flock? or are You safe with hatching eggs from anywhere?

I know that some of the respiratory illnesses can be carried on to the offspring-other things, I'm not confident about.
