Can a chicken lay 2 eggs a day?

I'm just curious, because I think my one and only white leghorn is. It's been the strangest thing! She is the only one in the flock who lays white eggs and I collected two white eggs today and several yesterday. Is this normal?

An excellent laying hen can lay an egg every 16-20 hours.

Rarely, but yes a hen can lay 2 in a day. She would lay one early morning and another late evening. When this happens there is good chance the hen will not lay the following day.
