Can a chicken lay at 12 weeks old?

I have 12 hens and 3 ducks and I went down the field this morning and found an egg that looked like a chicken egg! My chickens r only 12 weeks old could it possibly be one of theirs? Thanks

12 weeks is too early. Don't know how to tell duck from chicken eggs, could be theirs?

That's Dottie, BR, she is the top girl in my flock of 6 all hens. Photo was around 15 weeks old.

I think all 3 of yours are BR and girls!

Hope I'm right, but keep a watch on the lighter one..roos are more white than black. But they usually have larger combs/wattles at same age as girls. Prey you don't see saddle feathers or sickle tail start up. I have on BR was much lighter than others and is a girl.
