Chickens generally don't over eat a good ration but can fill up on too many treats if given the option at the cost of a balanced diet.

Anything is possible, but a lot of folks underestimate the capacity of the crop and view a normally stuffed crop as problematic

My little ones seem to fill their crops when they are out playing. Scratch, flowers, bugs and grass.

Make sure they have access to the appropriate sized grit and fresh water and they will be fine. They can get a blocked crop from long grass or random junk they find like twine or shiny things. But it doesn't happen too often if you give them grit and water. As for eating too much, I haven't heard of that. I always give free access to food and have had no problem.

Chicks are notorious for stuffing their crops enough to freak people out by the size of it. They are growing kids that need lots of calories.
