One of my Ginger coloured chooks suddenly found it very hard to walk was not eating and just stumbling around the others getting trampled on. She is still quite a good weight and looks quite healthy. I secluded her in with the younger chicks so she had access to food and water and couldn't be picked on by the rest of the birds. She is now walking better but still very vague and will not eat out of the chick enclosure and isolates herself if I let her out of the chick enclosure.
I was wondering if they can have a stroke or brain problem. They seem to all have gone off lay so am not surprised she is not laying as well.

How old is she? Did she have a mareks vaccination? Any symptoms of coccidiosis (lethargy, puffing up, diarrhea, poor appetite)? Corid or amprollium is the treatment for 5 days. Mareks disease could possibly be the cause, but any weakness can sometimes resemble that.

There is no sign of puffing up or any visible problem. She is now eating quite well and no sign of diarrhoea. Still quite wonky on her feet and lethargic I will look to see if I can get some ~~Corid or amprollium . Is it a oral medicine or application

Corid is an oral drug to add to the water--comes in liquid or powder form. How old is she? Coccidiosis usually occurs in chicks from 3-11 weeks up to 10 weeks, but can occur later if the chicken goes onto new ground or a new chicken carrying a new strain is added to the flock. Mareks is fairly common, and avian encephalomyelitis can also cause similar problems in chicks under 3 weeks. Here is some info on Mareks: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/the-great-big-giant-mareks-disease-faq

Very good article by the way. Never knew that chooks had so many problems.
~~Just wondering what the Mareks vaccine was. Injection, additive in food, liquid in their water? We give our chicks " chick starter" that has suppose to have some vaccines in it but I am not sure if it includes Mareks
