Last June we got a Jack Russell mix from the local Humane Society. She is a great little dog but she chews on things. She does really well as long as she has her chew sticks. Well our whole family recently had a cold bug. Our little Penny took to chewing snot rags. Eww I know. She would get in the garbage and get them out and eat them. Well its been a few weeks and we have noticed she now has a bit of a stuffy sounding nose. Not to bad but you can hear it sometimes when she breathes. I have had dogs all my life and I have never had a dog get a cold. Could she have gotten it from eating our snot rags?

Dogs can not catch the Common Cold from humans.

Just as an aside to this, ferrets can catch the flu from humans. We are careful, and have non-sickies care for them when someone is sick around here.
