I have 2 Muscovy girls sitting on eggs. At first I replaced their eggs with the fertile Rouen eggs because I was afraid they weren't fertile (the pekin drakes are scared of them, go figure) then I just kind of left them alone. There are nearly 30 mixed eggs with 2 full time sitters and it's unlikely but possible some of the muscovys are fertile. My dilemma is the gap between 28 days for rouens and 35 days for muscovys to hatch. Will they keep sitting even after the rouens hatch? Will there be any issues to watch for?

Make sure to keep the hen in the nest until all the eggs are hatched (try penning her in with feed and water, of course), she may try to leave when the first duckling hatches. Because of the large gap between the incubation periods of Muscovies and Rouens, the Rouens may be quite a bit bigger than the Muscovies, at first.
