My dad did something stupid. He took the rat next to the 2 week old duckling because he wanted to see what would happen. The rat bit the ducklings beak and the duckling cried. He is ok now. He just has a cut on his beak. The skin came off. Could the cut on the beak heal? How long does it usually take to heal on a duck?

bills will heal given enough time and if it's kept clean. Depending on where the cut is, you may want to put some neosporin on it (as only as it's not by the mouth opening).

My duck ming mei had a slight neurotic behavior when she was younger and kept clicking things with her bill to investigate. She actually wore a little whole in the tip of her beak. I had to remove or pad everything she kept clicking and it got better over time.

Edited to add- Luckily she stopped doing this quickly... and hasn't done it since.... ducks are silly sometimes
