I've recently started incubating a batch of eggs and most of the eggs started forming embryos (today is day 3). I might be travelling in a week, the journey will be almost an entire day and I have to take them with me.I saw a video where people incubate eggs by keeping them in rice, that's why I thought of storing them in rice.I wanted to get a second opinion if it's okay keeping them out of incubation and if there is a better option then rice.

My personal experience has been that I lost 3 out of 12 eggs when I moved them out of my incubator and into a broody hen for 1 day. They were on day 7 or 8. And that’s around how old the embryo was when it stopped developing for those 3 eggs.

Hopefully someone with more experience can help you out, but my thoughts are that they will die if you already started the incubation process and remove them from heat for close to a day.

You can maybe leave them in the incubator and wrap the incubator in towels for the whole trip and try to contain the heat in there, but no guarantees on this working.

Why can't you just leave them in the incubator?

No I meant, the travelling will take a day. I'll set up the incubator when I reach my home. I needed advice on how to transport them.
Ohhhh, ok. I have done that. Just get a cardboard box, put in some bubble wrap and blankets, put in an egg carton, and put the eggs in it. You don't need to hear them, it's actually good to let them cool. It should be below 80 degrees Fahrenheit, so they don't develop wrong. Just try not to let them get jostled or vibrated.
