Can a egg go without heat for a day?

It made a hole ,almost the size of its body and now its just all cozy inside,am i supposed to remove the shell or just let it be? Its been almost 8 hours.It even chirps,i've fed it some sugar water.What am i supposed to do?

No, leave it alone for now. The almost always take a break and the start up again. You can kill the chick if you take the shell off while there is blood in the veins

The chick hatched completely(Yesterday was day 19 today is day 20).All it does is sleep.How long before it starts to feed and how do i identify its gender?

Sorry im really nervous and i need answers asap,the chick is chirping like crazy and when i offer food and water it doesnt eat,it just runs around chirping.And how long do i need to keep it in the brooder?I am not in access to chick starter but i do have access to all kinds of grains.I bought millet,ragi,oats,rice,soyabeans,eggs and im thinking of blending them together.What do you guys think?

Feed it just egg for now, boiled and crumbled into tiny pieces. It might not realize its food, put it on a plain paper towel or yogurt lid so it's easy to see. You can tap next to the food to get its attention, like a mama hen would.

I hope you can get chick starter soon!

Whole grains are not too good since they need grit to digest it.

See if you can get a bag of chick grit for them

Im currently in a village in india and i don't have access to chick starter ,but since it's a village i can find all kinds of pulses and grains.Can't i put together the pulses and grains and grind them up then feed it?

Yes, it can eat those. But it needs some grit to chew them up. Once it's a little bigger you can take it outside to scratch in the dirt, and it will find tiny pieces of gravel on its own. Then you can give it grains, bugs, slugs, and it'll start catching them on its own too. Any chicken that's eating whole food needs access to grit or bare ground to find it.
I think you plan to grind up grain will work, especially if you separate out the husks or any hard parts. It's just not enough protein until the chicks eating bugs too.
You can also feed it leafy greens, though it might take a while to realize they're edible.

Edit: egg shells are too much calcium right now, though they're very good later on.

Baby chicks shouldn’t consume too much calcium or can cause problems.
