I have some good news though, a work mate of hubby will take Lucy (now Lionel). He has about a dozen hens so he should be in his ellement! They are all ex-battery hens so they've never seen a boy before, that will be interesting! LOL We drop him over there this afternoon.

Chickngurl, you've won me on the Polish, I'm going to hunt around in Perth where I live and see if anyone has them here, they are too cool!

What's the minimum amount of chooks that would be happy living together (social structure and all that), I was told once that you have to have at least 3, fact or fiction?

You can have as few as two for the birds to have company, but the large downfall of that is that if one dies, gets killed by a predator, or gets sick and needs to be taken in, you only have one lonely bird. Thus three is often a recommended number. I say the minimum is at least 12!!! j/k

In my mind and your mind, 12 would be great. In my husband's mind, maybe not so great! hee hee

Now that I'm losing this one, I'll have only 2, so I might get 2 or 3 more. That way if one of them turns out to be a rooster as well, I'll be covered

I don't think the pictures show it very well but they have powder blue colored legs too.

I hope you can find some in the Land of Oz!

Mine haven't been very noisy and they like to follow me every where, but I think that's because they're wanting treats or food.
