can a hen hold in a egg?

My half Serama /Silkie hens. Love to lay their eggs under the lawn mower , I have kept them in the run for a couple of days with no eggs.

I let them free range yesterday and found 4 fresh little eggs under the lawn mower. I swear they are laughing at me.
Above is one of my trouble makers pretending to lay a egg in the nest box. .

Have you tried fake eggs or golf balls in the nesting boxes? Beautiful hen, btw!!!!

Did you check everywhere! If they were laying, I don't think they would be able to hold them for that long...
