I love your roost/ poop area. My coop is metal, so I have to build everything as a standalone fixture. After I read about the egg ending up broken and in the poop, I've been thinking of another way. The picture above looks like it would suit me and the girls perfectly.

This setup would work great with your metal shed as it is free-standing. I built mine from a photograph I had seen...I just enlarged it and printed it off and spent many days "figuring it out" I still to this day can't believe that I built it myself as I'm a 70 year-old single gal with hardly any carpentry experience. Building it wasn't the hard part...the figuring it out was. My little flock would just stare at me day after day while I was sitting out there trying to do just that!

, because Gilda is really small and was pecked around her eye area yesterday. Since the "new" girls arrived, all six had been sitting on the top roost, but it looks like my three original girls, Ginger, Liza, and Joonie has choosen Joonie to represent them and Marianne, Lovey, and Gilda has choosen Lovey as their representative (Top roost). So now I guess I need two roosting bars. (This is what I found this morning.) So much for Peace on Earth...
