Can a hen lay 2 eggs in one day????

I have some hens that I have separated due to being pecked by the others. Every day I go in and gather their eggs. I noticed last week one hen had 2 eggs in her nest. Hmmmm? Did I miss one yesterday? Must have I thought. Now today, a week later. Poof! 2 eggs in her nest again. So is it possible for a hen to give 2 eggs in one day? or what my family thinks, my mind has flown the coop.

It is rare, but possible. Sometimes one will come like really early in the morning, or she could have laid it in the night, then another came later in the day.
