My hen is not eating as much nowadays and I'm wondering if the flies are the problem.
Edit- She doesn't eat at all in the morning, when it's full of flies. But at night, there are no flies, then she eats a lot.

Is it normal for a hen to eat only at night?

A lot of flies can kill a hen via fly strike. This is why it's so important to keep the coop and run clean and DRY.
Check her over thoroughly for a wound or excess poop build up around her vent. She may have maggots eating at her tissue. If she does, you'll need to act fast to get them off. It takes multiple "treatments" and inspection to remove all the maggots as they hatch from the eggs the flies lay.

I had an issue with flies and mites. I treated with permethrin for the mites and to my surprise it also eliminated the flies and there is no egg withdrawal period like there is with other products. Good luck...
