Ours have been eating cicadas, larve/nymph and adults... I say Good girls and glad they have the extra protein. Then again, I have eaten snails, raw oysters, clams, sashimi, beef & lamb tartar etc. So not much bothers me, except ill prepared food.

The absolute best way to redirect a wild middle school classroom is to tell someone with a water bottle that its' contents were once dinosaur pee. The whole class goes instantly silent and refocuses on me with a "That did NOT just fall out of your face," look. With a quick, casual recap of the water cycle we generally go right back to the work-at-hand.
