Hello! I have a wonderful broody who after many successful hatches decided to quit on day 10 of this one. I pulled her eggs off of the nest after she abandoned them for about 4 hours (I live in hot Florida so I wasn't too worried about that length). I candled the eggs and they are alive. I have them inside on a heating pad while I'm waiting for someone to lend me an incubator (tomorrow). My neighbor has offered for her non-broody hen who sleeps in the nesting box to "sit" on them overnight. Since I'm finding it very hard to control the heating pad temperature, this sounds great to me just to get through the night. What do you think?
