I’m putting in an automatic coop door to the run and am wanting to install a camera to make sure all the girls are in for the night. I have WiFi access and electricity, and the run is covered. Looking for suggestions. What is working for you? Appreciate your input.

I have an automatic door, although my hens refuse to go into the coop voluntarily at night... I have to go in at night and put them all in individually. hopefully it works better for you! lol!

I use bird feeder cameras — they work well, and the leftover seeds that wild birds drop are cleaned up by the chickens. 🤣There's no mess like you'd have with a regular bird feeder.

Mine already go in at dusk. I’m looking ahead to the colder months and would prefer not to have to go out to the coop in the snow and darkness to close the door. On the other hand, I want to be sure everyone has made it in.

Mine take themselves back into the run a bit before dusk after yard-ranging most of the day. I lock them in the run, and they are then free to decide whether they want to sleep in the Nestera coop or on the roosts just outside the coop.

In the mornings, they just hop down from wherever they slept and mess around in the run until I let them out.
