OK...that does it ....gonna get a pin and a wire to hang it on , and keep it by my latch. Just when I think it is a Fort Knox Coop....!!

Our lock on the coop is just about the right height for a coon to reach!!

Raccoons can definitely open that lock. Remember, they have all night, mostly un-interupted, to work on it. I have basic slide locks (like the first one pictured) so I put luggage locks on my people and pop doors. Key hangs beside the door on a cup hook and it's no hassle to open up in the morning or close it up at night. Certainly better than the alternative...
I'm thinking that a raccoon isn't going to be able to put a key into a lock, turn it, open the lock and remove it from the door. Am I being naive? Seriously?
