We just recieved a silikie roo which is about 4 months old. When we attempted to introduce him to the flock they started picking on him and driving him up the fence of our pen. We currently have 4 golden rockets, 4 black sexlings, and one old rhode island red (which is quite large). We put the silkie in the other half of the pen with a chicken wire fence seperating the two. Our neighbors got him for us as their dog killed our rooster and a few hens last year. We appreciate their intent, but we don't want the baby rooster to suffer the consequences. Any advice would be great. We have plenty of room in our coop, but next week the half where the silkie currently is, is going to begin being used to raise turkey poults so he may not have a lot of time to warm up to the grumpy old hens.
