Thanks for your advice everyone.
Since yesterday afternoon, she seems very much improved. She eats like a pig, cheeps all day, scratches, naps, etc. The only problem I see now is that I'm apparently not allowed to leave the room!
She goes into frantic loud cheeping noise whenever she doesn't see me, including when I'm actually there but something is blocking her view.
I put her on my lap for a few minutes today, and she napped against my hand. Geez! How can one not fall in love?
I would still like to get her a buddy chick if I can find one. But at least now I'm not worried that she won't eat or relax, or would freeze, because she doesn't have one already.
Oh! And I've also learned the call to make her lie down motionless and quiet. (predator alarm call). I'm so proud of my achievement! Perhaps I should write a scientific paper on the matter? To "alarm" a chick that there is danger, I just.....
Burp!!!!!!
Seriously! works every time!
Take care!
