Can adult chickens have starter feed

Most of my adult birds don't lay anymore except one cochin. Today I was introducing my 19 week old pullets to them. My question is can the older girls eat starter they are for some reason munching it down. They do have oyster shells on the side.

Yes of course! I use either all flock or chick starter with my layer feed when my girls are molting, great protein source.

Yes, Some to many here prefer starter or an all flock (oyster shell on the side) for their whole life.

Yay that's good! I'll most likely start mixing starter feed with the layer feed from now on
