I ordered 10 orpington eggs for my broody austrolorp to sit on. They sent 14 - can a hen keep that many warm?

If she has a well formed, bowl shaped nest (I really like grass hay) she should be able to cover that many unless they are extremely large eggs. I would give it a try, and if it is evident that she can not cover that many - remove eggs until she is able to cover the remainder. Good luck.

Thanks! One egg was large but the others were more medium/small. I made her a nest with grass hay on top of some nest liners, in a nice bowl shape. She settled right down and has them all covered, so here's hoping it works! Poor Raven has been going broody on and off for two months. We take her out of the nest, keep eggs away, etc, but this week she finally floofed up and refuses to get off

She's such a sweetheart that we decided she deserved some eggs. She looks very fulfilled and flat as a pancake now!
