Can any goose produce foie gras ?

Either way seems cruel to me and we have raised our own meat over the years so I'm not coming from a PETA mind set.
Its bad enough the way most animals are kept for milk, meat, egg production and I certainly would not support
adding additional affliction upon any animal. That is why I try to buy local free range eggs, milk and meat as much as possible
and I won't order foie gras in a restaurant as good as it might be and I also don't eat veal either because the way its raised.
Of course all of this is not what you asked about but did you kind of open up a can of worms here.
I hope you'll reconsider raising waterfowl for foie gras and enjoy their livers just the way they are.
I make a wonderful liver pate. Combine livers with a lot of butter and a little wine, salt, pepper, garlic if you wish in a shallow baking dish.
Bake covered until done, cool then blend until smooth.
