So we got 4 chicks from tractor supply supposed to be ameraucana but I know they are probably easter eggers. Any way they are about 4-5wks now (Im guessing) and we are wondering if there is a way to tell what we have. We are seeing some roo like behavior out of one or two of them. Here are some pics. We just started letting them out of the brooder for yard time this week. IMG_5388.jpg IMG_5385.jpg IMG_5382(Edited).jpg IMG_5381(Edited).jpg

Looks like at least 2 males. I see one for sure female. I'm on the fence with another.

Also, these appear to be Easter Eggers.

Thanks everyone. I was thinking the darker one and the one in the door way are females and the other two the roos. They keep squaring off with each other and the biggest one is very vocal.

Both genders will spar...key to males is redness in comb and wattles around 6-8 weeks.
Also with EE's 3 rows of peas(vs 1 row) in combs can sometimes be an indicator of males.
Some folks know about feather color patterns too.

Solely based on coloration, I'm thinking both in picture #2 are cockerels....so far, their plumage appears to be of male specific variety. (though the little guy with rusty wing bars is a definite ;)) It also seems the others are currently looking quite girly. :)
