My 2 were hatched on May 9 & I’m trying to decide if they are bantam or standard but looking at your weights, I’m thinking standard! Mine are 81g and 85g & I did week by week photos
day 1 & 2

maybe we can help each other! I’m going to compare my pics to yours now and guess on yours! 😂😜
Most silkies in America are bantams, just so you know (my silkies are bantams)

@Lemon-Drop I am thinking boy, boy, girl on your three! That high arch on #3 gives me boy vibes. #1 had the more defined comb area. #3 doesn’t have any signs I would think of as roo... yet. 😂
Just have to wait and see.... dang, I hate waiting! I’m so impatient. 🤣

Luckily, I can keep at least one cockerel (I don’t have any roosters right now, and a flock of 13 for sure pullets)

I could even keep two, if they are friendly enough. (I’ve seen a ratio of 1:6 or so for silkies)

I am very lucky to live where I can keep roosters.

I'm quite lucky 2 out 3 of my 4 week chicks are definately cockerels already lol the last one I think pullet but still on the fence

Just a Little Update:

Pebbles, blue: 174 grams
Eclipse, black: 170 gra
Nutmeg, partridge: 145 grams.

(weight was last taken on the 16th)

And a few pictures:

Nutmeg is partridge, very floofy. Has a wild looking poof on top of her head.

Pebbles is blue/grey
And also has poof. Heavier than nutmeg, but also pretty fluffy.

Eclipse (black) has no poof on top of her head, and isn’t as fluffy as the others.

Also, I made a silkie comb week by week thread. Thread here.

They are a day less than 5 weeks.

Pure guessing, I'll say black is a cockerel. I at least got a 50/50 shot ?
And..... you got it right! Now they are 20 weeks old, eclipse (black) is a cockerel, nutmeg (buff/partridge) is a pullet, and pebbles (blue/ grey) is a pullet.
