Can anyone help me figure out what breed this handsome, sweet little fellow is?

Hello all, a little help, please! :) I got this little guy when he was 3 weeks old, and I was told he was half Barnevelder, half Easter Egger. He is now 10 weeks old (about 6 weeks in this pic) and I have figured out that he is some kind of bantam....he's a third of the size of my hens of the same age! I'm thinking the gal I got him from got her chicks mixed up...I know she also had Bantams, just not sure what breeds and she's not been replying to my emails. He has long (for his stature), black legs, black feathers and a white head and hackles. His comb is a darker, almost brick red. Any ideas or opinions out there? He's also just the sweetest little guy..first one to greet me at the door each day! :)

He is very beautiful!

I think he is a cross-breed, because of the shape of his head and size of his eyes. I have lots of bantam cross-breeds, including some with darker combs, those with large eyes, and a variety of color patterns.

One of the mix breed chicks from the photo above, all grown up and with chicks of her own. She is part White Silkie, part Silver Sebright and part Red Pyle OEG

I know this chick is part Silkie, but I don't know who the parents were

If he is 3/4 size, he likely is a mix of a full size breed and a bantam as you generally get that size when you mix full size with bantam....or with a light bird and heavier bird.

You know he is a mix, so it could be anything...possibly the Barnevelder and a bantam...the blacking and head shape makes me wonder if some Sumatra might be in there too....it could depend on what the Easter Egger was as EE's are mixes.

Did she have any Sumatra on site?

Seeing natural stance full body profile would help....need to see wing length in comparison to body size.

But know you may never know...a mix of a mix is hard to guess most times unless there is some really definitive marking.

Thanks for your help! I will try to take a better pic of him tomorrow....he's only about 1/3 of the size of the hens of the same age, but he's a little stud! ;)

Here are some more pics.....all the chickens are the same age, within 2 days, just to give an idea of his size.

He looks like a Modern game bantam in those pics. Very cute roo!
