I really need some chickens!

I've posted everywhere I know how, but no hits so far close enough to where we live.

Have you checked on your local Craigslist and Freecycle list?

Do you have close feedstores? Often people will put signs up on their bulletin boards. Is there a local, county newspaper that you can look through the for sale ads?

Yes, I'm on freecycle and craigslist... many of the birds on craigslist are too far away.

Wow, I never thought of checking the board at the feed store!

just one more way I am a newbie at this.

Well, I'm back from the feed store. The person there was really nice, but (as you all probably know), now is not the best time of year to find younger pullets and/or chicks unless you want to order from a hatchery.

She took my name and number and a list of what I'm looking for. She's got 20 RIR pullets about 4.5 months old... but they are farm birds -- never handled.

Call your local farm animal vet. Ours had chickens for sale on their board one time.
