I got some Polish chicks from the feed store the other day. They had buff laced, golden laced, silver laced... but I have no idea what this is. Her fuzz is bright orange, and she's got a black dot on her head.

Thanks :)

Sorry but it doesn't look like it is even a polish chick. There should be a top knot on it and I do not see one.

Look at the way her down grows on top of her head...she most definitely does have a topknot.

Maybe a small one, but it is suppose to be and able to definately see the top knot all over and not just small like that. I have Polish crosses that have that small type of top knot. So I still say not Polish, maybe a cross.

I assure you, she is a Polish! There were several of these of this variation in the brooder, and they all had their little poofs. I picked this one because she had an especially calm and friendly disposition, even though she wasn't as "endowed". Here is another picture.

Thanks for all the replies for far :)

Did they come from Ideal hatchery? I know you said from a feed store, but di they get them from Ideal? Reason I ask is that I have heard that they (Ideal) has the red variety and they do not always have a real good top knot. Maybe she (or he) will develope an better one later. By the way in the new photo I can see the creast a little better. Cute chick.
