Can anyone tell me about hatching to sell?

There is another down side. Whenever I first hatched, it was amazing, exciting, and extra special. When you do it so many times, like I have, that feeling goes away. After 5 dozen times of seeing and hatching chicks, that special feeling and cuteness disappears. I mean, it is still fun and they are still cute, its just not the same. Especially when you HAVE to get rid of them after they hatch. You cant become attached. I guess this is just me.

I 2nd that! seeing them hatch and exploring the brooder is always a thrill.

Its just not AS exciting as with my own eggs. LIke I am SUPER excited with this hatch right now because I have silkie eggs from Bobbi POrto! I am talking about when I hatch other peoples eggs. Its hard not to attach to the chicks. I cant attach to them cause I have to sell them later on. What I was really trying to say is that nothing really beats my first hatch. I was so new and in experienced, I was totally surprised the whole hatch!

Yes,I can see both sides . Thanks for bringing that thought to my attention...something I hadn't thought of.Yes,it would be hard not to be somewhat attached after 21 days of worry!! But I also know that it would be unfair to keep more than I can comfortably house too.What I really would like is to have the kids super involved and let them make pocket change from it.I think it's a good lesson in responsibility,patience and realism.That and they love the chicks,of course...and every once in a while I'd let em keep one
