I have 4 Hens (I hope

) I know the Red on is prob. a RIR, but have no idea about the other three . When do they start laying? What color are there eggs? How many do they lay? Behavior? Sorry I am knew at all this . Here are some pics..

Can you repost the pictures and use the larger format?

They only ones easily identified in thumbnail pics are your production reds. Nice bird, freindly and will give you 6 redish brown eggs a week each.

Chickens can start laying at 18 weeks but would'nt hold my breath if it takes 24 weeks. They'll lay when they lay. You'll notice them checking out the nesting boxes, squating for you and combs getting redder when they are getting ready.

The tail set on your other birds is asiatic in apearence. Being black and blue a fair guess is they are Andalusian. Do they have white ears? Reposting pictures in the web format will give you better answers.

The black ones look like Australorps to me. Possibly Black Jersey Giants? (Both lay brown eggs) No idea on the grey ones, but they sure are pretty!
