About how old my chicks are now? Just to remind you, we bought them from a feed store around the first of March. It looks like they are losing some of their "baby" feathers to me. Thanks!

This is the "chipmonk faced one"....my 9 yr old daughter is holding Georgina or Georgette (they thought it was a male and named it George)

I forget which one this is:

And this is Mrs Cluckers, the only remaining chicken from last year. She has layed 3 bunches of eggs--ranging from 21 to 37 eggs each time.

When the store's get them they are only like 2 to 3 days old. They look like 4-5 weeks to me

I'd say about a month old.

Which would make sence, because feed stores get their chicks at about 2-3 days old.

They are beautiful. I agree with the others......look to be about a month old.

I would say they are around 4 weeks old. The 2nd chick looks just like mine. I have been told mine is a production red.

Thanks y'all! That's what I thought. Now, exactly old old would they have to be to start mating and laying? Our bigger/older chicken is a NHR but I don't know how old she was when she started laying.

Your second pic is red(gold sexlink) and the green legs are probably EE's and your hen is most likely and RIR or production red. Good luck:)

It ranges depending on breed but usually around 4-6 months for most breeds. In my experience the EE's take longer to lay. Some of mine were closer to 8 months before they started laying.
