My boyfriend and I purchased these chickens as 1 week old chicks from our local market, off a lady who kept calling them ducks!
(I know right!
)
Anyway, we have never had chickens before and have no idea what type of breed they are. Both are about 7-8 weeks old now.
Our little black hen "Merriweather' is disabled and has deformed legs, even though she struggles to walk, she is so sweet and very docile.
Our little red hen "Peggy" is adventurous, curious and protective of Merriweather. They always stay close to each other and seem to be best mates.
I would love it if somebody could tell me if they recognize their breed, so that I can read up on it and get to know more about them.
