can anyone provide show potential hatching eggs for a reasonable price?

PLEASE!!!

any breed

Are you just wanting birds that will win? What breeds fit you, then attempt to find breeders of that breed.

ive had no luck with breeders, and i want my birds to win i just dont want to pay an arm and a leg!

i want bantams like silkies or cochins maybe polish or faverolles or sumatras not sure and im getting some cochin eggs from someone but i want two kinds or varieties:)

I would suggest doing some research first. Find breeds that will do well in your temperature area...won't lose combs to frostbite, etc. Won't overheat, you get the picture?

Next, find breeds that you are willing to spend time on. If you decide to get, say, a Sumatra and don't accommodate for the tail, your bird doesn't stand a chance. You need to know what to look for in the breeds...otherwise you can and will be taken.

anyone have polish or cochin or silkie or modern game show potential hating eggs for sale

HA HA! THATS A GOOD 1! YOU CAN IN NO WAY GUARENTEE A SHOW QUALITY BIRD FROM A HATCHING EGG=== BEWARE THE PERSON WHO SAYS THEY CAN!

Hey roo!

You and I sound like we are a bit in the same situation. We'd like to start showing chickens, but are finding it difficult to find birds that will win that we can afford.

The breeder pages talk about how they sometimes have to hatch 100 eggs to end up with 10 that might be worth keeping for showing and breeding. You can understand where they cannot guarantee that an egg or chick will be a show winner, even out of very high quality parent stock.

Also, there is a lot of expense in hatching so many birds, caring for them to an age where a selection can be made as to quality, and then caring for them until they reach breeding age. To keep going financially, they will have to charge a bit more for their potentially high quality stock.

Your best bet may be to go to a show in your area and review the breeds that are doing well there. If you absolutely want to win, you might as well pay a lot of money for a few proven show winning adults and start from there, as opposed to 100's of mediocre chicks/eggs.

The folks on these pages really enjoy their birds. It wouldn't surprise me if they are reluctant to share the results of years of work in breeding birds with a bunch of obvious newbies like us.

We may not care for them correctly in our inexperience, and these birds have been friends and pets for a long time.

I am very thankful for their advice and don't mind if they get a little entertainment out my my new fanatic enthusiasm and inept mistakes. I'm sure they were in this spot once upon a time.

Stick around, the birds you need will become available eventually, but it will take time. Most of these show people have been working on their flocks for a long time.

I've had the same problem. I've gone to shows to buy quality birds and nothing I want is for sale and they don't offer any for sale. (do they eat all those that don't make the cut?) I think it's a secret club so I finally joined a poultry club- hopefully then, I will earn my wings or they will take me under theirs. you might start there as well.

I am a breeder of show and pet silkies, showgirl silkies, buff brahma bantams, silver seabrights, buff orphingtons, barred rock, silver laced wyandottes some others but can't remember right off the bat. I have 9 breeds.

you should try silkies. really showgirls.
My hen has an egg in the bator that seems to have a chick in it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that was a very kind and well thought out response.
