Hi,
I am thinking of adding some true Araucana Chickens to my flock and wondering if they can survive the cold of our winter weather? I live in PA.

Another thing is, I would really love to find some TRUE Araucana eggs. Any advice on how to tell the difference of an Araucana compared to an EE or Ameraucana. Do they only lay blue eggs?

They should only lay blue, but you'll often find greenish ones.

TRUE Araucana eggs can be purchased from Anne at araucanasonline or Ann at skybluegg.com

- Also, Gary Ramey in South Carolina sells chicks weekly, and also auctions his eggs. All of my Araucanas are from him.

As for cold, they should take it decently - Anne is up in Bellingham WA which is pretty far north, but I don't know how much snow it gets. . . Otherwise most other breeders are in warm climates, so I don't really know for sure.

Jody and Charlie at hinkjcpoultry.com in Slatington, Pa. have araucana chickens. Check out their website.
