My husband and I got 6 bantams at the Tractor Supply Company 2 weeks ago...

We have each become very fond of one of the chicks. It happens to be a feather legged one. But I liked it when i went to pick it out.

Anyways, my question is, if you get them at a young age, like maybe a week old... can they become attached to you, like you are attached to them? I know it's a silly question, but i was just curious. I'm new to this, so don't laugh too hard.

Yuppery Duppery Do!
I have 2 cochins that think I rule the earth and love me to pieces. The rest...well,not so much lol.At least they arent attack Ninja Chickens.

and i love your screen name. i have a Great Pyr named Tallulah Belle and we call her Lula Belle:D

Even as I sit here on the computer typing, it's on my shoulder just resting.

My husband and I each have become fond of this one. I know eventually we will have to take them outside, but I would be crushed if anything happened to it.

I know I can replace them.... but I really like this one. Such a sweety.

No silly questions here! Yes they will become attached to you and what fun it is when they do. I have a turken pullet that just shoots out of where ever she is to me for her treat. Really comical to watch. I have a bench where I sit to watch chicken TV an I have a black cochin hen (miss bloomer britches) who to my delight will come sit in my lap. I use watermelon as one type treat they love it.

One of my chicks is very much attached to me....has been since day 2. She always hops out of the brooder and she likes to sleep in my arm. It's so cute. My DH says she is rotten. The other 12 chicks are friendly enough but not like her.

BTW.....her name is LuLu.

We have 14 chicks, all hatched on 3/25.

We have some that seem to be very frightened at being shown any attention, and I have one specked Sussex that we named Sally that is so friendly that at the sound of my voice she looks up and jumps up flapping- she wants me to put my hand down into the brooder so she can jump into my hand & perch on my arm. She'll make little peeps and cheeps, at me, then she'll settle down onto my arm. She sits there very pleased with herself, and makes a very contented little noise. She is so friendly and sweet!

Some of my other friendlies are the black Australorps, Peeps and Cocoa and Josette, one of the cuckoo Marans. We also have an Easter Egger, Sue, who really seems to enjoy being patted but screams as if she's being eaten alive if she's picked up.

They are really fun! I'm going to miss them once they leave my kitchen & go outside into their almost-finished coop. I can just see that I'll NOT be inside getting much done once that happens!

I have deadlocks to my waist. My baby chick is 3 weeks almost and has decided the place between my neck and the dreads at the base of my skull is " mothers wing" lol I already understand all her peeps and she has grown accustomed to sleeping in my hair even as i type this if i go anywhere she races behind me through out my house lol. She's my first baby so she's special and spoiled along eith my baby goat
