Hi!

I am trying to expand my current flock of nine hens and one rooster, who are getting older and not laying as many eggs. I'm considering getting between nine and twelve chicks, but I also have the opportunity to get three of my previous hens back. One is a standard-size ISA Brown and the other two are a bantam Cochin and bantam Brahma. I have a few different ideas for how to integrate, if this does happen, but I wanted to know if it was safe to keep the little bantam hens with my EE rooster. Integration tips also welcome!

Thanks!

Yes, you can keep bantam hens with a standard rooster. I do, and have the offspring to prove it! In the photo, the Sebright hen is in the foreground, and the 2 hens closest to her are her offspring from the rooster…. 9F1BCBF8-B9DB-4E97-97AB-94E373594845.jpeg

My flock consists of both large fowl and bantams and I have never had a problem/
