Can Bantam Roosters Breed with standard size Hens.

That's encouraging it might be interesting to see what Silkie cross barred rock or rhode island red or jersey giant or white rock might look like. LOL
I have a mixed flock...only like 5 "big" girls. The rest are small to med sized hens. I have 2 bantam Cochin roosters and I have 4 fertile eggs on day 10 in the incubator. They are really creative with mounting the girls. They will "creep" up behind them when they are dust bathing and just jump on. :)

Lol, this thread keeps getting a boost! Inquiring minds need to know!

I have a couple new Banty Roos this spring who are now cheeky cockerels lookin for love. They are particularly fond of the spring pullets (just their size, lol), which include a leghorn, a buff, and a cuckoo Marans. There’s also a jersey giant, but she’s already too big for them.

They try to work over the more established hens, but OG roo and the hens themselves usually shut that down. It’ll be exciting (“eggsciting?”) to see what mixes come up - if I ever get another broody, that is! Four years raising this flock and I just got my first broody hen! We’ve hatched chicks, but usually under a broody duck. The Buff pulley looks like she wants to single wingedly shift that trend, though! Ahh, exciting times in the yard.

Below:
1) all the boys
2) community dust bath: the “Hobbit Roos” and my older girls
3) our first successful broody hen hatched chick, Sunny (EE/Legbar cross).

Note on our legbar baby crosses - they always take on their mothers’ colors, but they always get his adorable little crest and blue egg gene. I love my lil legbar babies!
