Can be left in the dark now???

My Cornish cross are 4 weeks old. Can they be left in complete darkness during the night? Will they find their water or are they fine not to drink till the early morning sunrise?

At 4 weeks they should be fine now to make it through the night without food or water so it can be dark

Chickens normally don't eat/drink after dark, they roost. They'll be fine.

Mine, raised with the mhp, have been in total dark at night since day 1. They go under the pad at dusk and stay until first light. You've never seen such happy birds, you can set your watch by the times they would nap. At 3 weeks they were sleeping on the roost, not under the mhp anymore and now, at 6 weeks, are fully feathered and doing great (except for the one the hawk injured, she's in the garage)
