Can button quail live in hay?

Oh yes, a lot of people put lots of hay in button pens, it gives them something to hide in

Make sure the hay doesn't have mold in it. That would not be healthy for their respiratory systems.

Well it looks like you have even numbers of each sex (there are 8, right?), so you shouldn't have any trouble pairing them off

Let me rephrase, I can't tell what the white one is, but the others look like 3 girls and 4 boys
