Can Canada Mayflower be used as poultry forage?

Firstly, I'd just like to say that this forum is a fantastic resource, and has answered countless questions I've had over the past couple years! Here's something I've been thinking about recently, and I'd love to get some feedback from the community:

If you live anywhere near forested areas in the Northeast, then you probably are all too familiar with the sight of shady woodland carpeted with Canada Mayflower (Maianthemum canadense). It's everywhere!

I haven't seen warnings anywhere of the plant being even remotely toxic, and it's so omnipresent in my area that it'd seem a shame not to make use of it to whatever it's best suited. I've been reading about the success some have had rotating their flocks into paddocks in light woodland, and was wondering if the chickens, turkeys, or geese would go at all for the Canada Mayflower. Could the plants be harvested and fed to chickens in a run in the back yard? Will they eat them, and get proper nutrition?
