can chickens and turkeys be housed together?

I am thinking about getting a turkey as a flock gaurdian could I put it to bed in the coop with the free range chickens.

I do. There can be problems when they're housed together (blackhead, etc.) but since I only have two and keep things clean I don't worry about it. I think it's more of an issue if you're talking about integrating whole flocks. They'll help with hawks and such, but they're still just birds so I wouldn't be depending on them to keep the chooks safe.
