Can chickens be barren?

Thank you!!!!! This post made me giggle :goodpost:I'm gonna laugh about monthlies, weeklies and dailys.... for quite a while.:lau
As a woman I guess I should be happy to not have the weeklies or daily's:p
Lol, yeah, I'm glad of that as well... Though if it was as simple as running to the bathroom (nestbox) and going "plop" and done, I think I would prefer to do that more frequently...

Daily pms could be a nightmare rollercoaster for some! Another upside to a daily plop would be hitting the change sooner and being done with all of the hormonal business in a short amount of time.

Mainer, sorry for your losses; chicken keeping is tricky sometimes.
Your hen with the big crop; keep track of her body condition, because many/ most hens like this will gradually get thinner, thinner, and way too thin. They will 'act fine' until too weak to cope, and are basically starving to death. Make sure that your girl isn't one of these! Mary
Thanks for the advice Mary. I've thought JoJo's extended crop would cause more problems than we've seen so far. Initially I tried all the recommendations to empty the crop and get it moving, but none seemed to work. So when she seemed happy and active enough I let well enough be, and we'll see what happens from here. Mainer
