Can chickens catch diseases/pests

from wild birds? The run where my chickens free range is a favorite place of little sparrows and finches and peewees. I have no way of keeping them out of the area but just want to know what I should be aware of. Thanks!

there are many chickens experts on this board...I am not one of them, but I think wild birds can spread cocci to your backyard flock.
