Can chickens eat a whole fish?

I have given my chickens the fish remains after filleting them. They loved the skins and picked the bones clean.
Don't give them too much or it can impact the flavor of the eggs.

Small fish consumed whole and even alive if so presented.
Silversides, smelt, shiners, fry bass and bluegill

Softer large fish consume by picking apart assuming dogs do not steal it.
Rainbow Trout

Harder large fish like bass and bluegill hard to peck apart until a little decomposition sets in. Have to hide those from dogs too.

Bones and scales do not appear to be an issue. The chickens are not adverse chopped / process fish parts. My chickens will also eat substantial amounts of deer carcass.
