We have some that is left over and we are wondering if we can give it to the chickens.

yes! They ate Japs straight from the plant out of my garden last year and are just fine! Some people give red pepper to their chickens to get them to lay!

Yes I have done the red pepper dust myself before. Thanks you.

Don't you like flavored eggs?

Maxx, seriously, it should be fine. If it is real salty, don't give them a lot. They can't handle too much salt, but the pepper will not hurt them. I also give mine red peppers straight from the garden, both hot and sweet peppers.

The eggs will not be flavored.

They will with garlic, I gave my chickens a 5 gallon bucket of premixed garlic butter(margarine) and they loved it but the eggs tasted like you put garlic powder on them.

I've fed mine garlic on occasion, but never tasted it in the eggs. Guess it depends how much. They did have garlic breath, though, LOL.

I don't believe I'll think about that one too much! I trust they were not house chickens.

I believe that chickens cannot taste hot or spice. I know that is the case for wild birds as people put hot spices in the bird food to make it distasteful to squirrels.
