Can chickens eat rolls of sod? I live in the desert and I was thinking of buying my chickens a few square feet of sod. Just checking if this is good for them or not!

Are you meaning the soil part or the grass? They'll eat a little soil sometimes, but not much. But they love to eat grass, some varieties more than others.

I agree. Sod is one of the most chemical-intensive crops we grow.

Tney don't *need* green stuff if they have a good commercial feed, but they'll enjoy the trimmings from your veggies and fruits.

Some people give their chickens alfalfa hay in the winter. Maybe that would work for you? Reportedly, they eat the leaves and the stemmy stuff contributes to the bedding.
