Can chickens eat tomatoes?

Chickens will def eat tomates, corn, peppers, flowers, flower bed ( I know this from personal experience ) They will eat most everything, mine have wiped out the herb bed, one flower bed, they had a great time in the berry patch and melon patch. I think if they could figure out how to eat the cat, that he would be fair game, hope kitty does not fall asleep in the chicken yard, lol.

They will clear and fertilize at the same time !!

Tomatoes are not poisonous but will cause egg production to drastically decrease or stop all toge
ther.

I have a 6 ft privacy fence on two sides, a brick building on one side and 4 ft chain link on the other side. I leave the birds in their yard all day with access to their coop and so far no one has flown over the fence. Their yard and coop is mostly dirt as it is shaded by big trees, but at least once a day they get out to enjoy grass. They go in their coop at night.

I fed my birds a pumpkin from the garden a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't going to last until Halloween (bummer) but the squirrel that had discovered was eating it. I don't like squirrels so I wasn't gonna let it eat the pumpkin, so for spite I broke it up and put it in the chicken pen.
You should have seen the size of the eggs the next couple of days! I got at least 4 huge double yoke eggs! Wow I had no idea that would happen! I felt bad for the chickens that laid those BIG eggs. The eggs were at least 3+ inches long!

My chickens go crazy when I put a tomato in front of them. Really, they like it more than anything else and will run after me if I walk away with it. They eat lots of the tomato plant... not poisonous? Do tomatoes effect the eggs they lay?

I have a question. My chickens have been eating my tomatoes all summer long and I just noticed there is some red poop in the coop. Could the tomatoes have caused their poop to turn red or is it blood and one of my girls is sick?
