I too hated to ban my chix from the summer garden when there are bugs everywhere. I have purchased light weight plastic poultry fencing and plastic poles used for elec fencing, and I have made a corridor out the chicken gate to the raised garden bed that I want them to work for me. They turn, de-bug and fertilize the beds for me. Then I plant that freshly turned bed and move the fencing to another area. Works great for me. Leslie
