I just got what I thought was a silkie but seems to be a cross(has five toes but no head puff and seems to have a beard) My friend got it for me sight unseen. When I recieved it it looks like it has glacoma in one of it's eyes. Almost the whole eye is white. He is in his isolation pen right now but should I be concerned about this? Maybe it is an eye injury?

thanks
Chris

* Sounds like a previous eye injury. Mine has her left eye similiar to that after getting attacked by a possium, though it's not opaque white, more like skim milk white.

thanks guys. After looking up ocular Mareks disease it does not look like that. It is skim milk white and not the whole eye not grey. I can't tell if he can see out of the eye or not. he is very elusive and I have not been able to get close to him to inspect.

* Mine can see light/shadow and movement-- we know that much. She gets along fine in her run, we just make sure her food, waterers, and box are in the same place each time. I thought it was more likely a corzya infection at the time. But, she had at least 3 tooth punctures from the attack, so I was just thrilled she didn't lose the eye(eyes) entirely, you know??
